A Message From WUFC's Men's Head Coach Brad Eiffe
A Message From WUFC's Men's Head Coach Brad Eiffe
First things first I would like to thank the Board for showing faith in me, and giving me this wonderful opportunity to coach what I can only call a very exciting and talented squad of players. I'd also like to thank all who have sent me their well wishes, kind words and words of support  over the last 24hrs. They have come from players, board members, fellow coaches, supporters and parents of juniors at Waimak. It has been very over whelming and very much appreciated.
I am really looking forward to helping the CCL Squads push on to the next level. I will bring a level of professionalism on and off the pitch, fight, desire and pride to the squads, along with hopefully an exciting brand of attacking football. You will also see a lot closer bond between the CCL squads with the rest of the club which I have noticed has been missing since I arrived at the club. It is vital for the club as a whole to be all pulling in the right direction and to show our outstanding juniors there is a pathway to top level senior football if you are female or male. I will be an open book and approachable by anyone in the club and you will see me around the grounds at seniors, masters, female and junior football supporting our club on all aspects.
Since arriving at Waimak it instantly felt like home and somewhere I could see myself and my family being for many years to come. Everyone from the coaches, board members and players made me feel very welcome. My daughter has been playing at the club for the last 12 months for the under 9s, and in the various skills programmes the club have to offer, so I have my best intentions to see this club move forwards. Over the coming seasons, I would like to see Waimak AFC really become a community club and look to grow close bonds between the club and the community.
Like I said I look forward to getting started in my new role and I am very excited for Waimak AFC future. A meet and greet for existing and new players will be set and details will be sent out asap. Preseason will be discussed but we will be looking to start at the beginning of December. My coaching team will be made and set up in due course and player signings will be updated frequently for all our supporters and members to see.
Thank you,
Brad Eiffe

Appointment of Head Coach for the Senior Men's team

The Waimakariri United AFC Board are excited to announce the appointment of Bradley Eiffe to the position of Waimakariri United AFC Senior Men’s Head Coach. Bradley has been appointed to a 3 years term as the board want to look to provide a high degree of continuity and stability as we look to push for promotion into Mainland Footballs Premier League competition as well as establishing ourselves as one of the desired clubs to play for in the Mainland region.

In 2018 Bradley completed a successful campaign with the Waimakariri United AFC reserve team finishing 2nd to Halswell United. In the recent Coastal Spirit U19 tournament held over labour weekend he successfully lead the team to a creditable 3rd place finish. Brad has also held coaching positions with Forrestfield United who play in the Western Australian State League. Bradley has also played top level football for over a decade with non-league and Midland Combination league clubs in the United Kingdom as well as in Australia in the Western Australian State League.

We believe that Bradleys appointment will support the club in finally reaching its potential in the senior men’s football landscape. The board will be working hard behind the scenes with Bradley to develop a plan which sees the club reach its goal of promotion into the Mainland Premier League men’s competition.

U19's Coastal Spirit Tournament Girls Squad

This year we are bringing a team of girls made up from varied teams to the Under 19 tournament. We are lucky enough to have secured 3 guest players whom we are sure will be an asset to the team; as well as some experienced Senior players mixing it up with some younger girls who have been playing for the Pride Development team this year.

Preparation for this tournament has been minimal; but we have confidence that all the girls are high calibre players, they know how to play the game and will gel together. We see our jobs as coaches to be supporting communication on and off the field and specific position support. We plan on being a competitive team with many of the girls already very experienced in playing in this tournament previously. We as coaches are looking forward to this tournament as we have previously had great success in it.

We look forward to seeing the supportive Waimak crowd on the sidelines and we plan on making you proud. A big thank you to Trudy Keer Keer our superstar manager and to all the parents who are supporting the girls over the weekend.

U19's Coastal Spirit Tournament Squad

This year we bring a relatively young but talented Waimak 19s squad to the tournament. We will be looking to be competitive and to play a footballing style that is at the highest of quality, while enjoying playing teams of high calibre.
The boys have came together in a short period of time but have started to gel at the right time. They have all formed a good team spirit and will be ready to go come the first game. The boys and coaching staff are not only looking to do the club proud but the whole Waimak Region.
For me it’s my first time at the tournament and I have heard nothing but good things regarding it, so great stuff to all at Coastal involved in the running of it and I’m sure this year will be no different.
On behalf of the team I would like to thank the individual and team sponsors who have supported the squad, and Jody and Steve for their time managing and coaching.

Please find below the link to the Mainland Football Policy on Concussion and Management of Concussion, that clubs have agreed to put in use.

Coaches, managers, and team first aiders, are asked to read and understand the implications for players suffering concussion.

It is also a valuable resource for parents to read, in order to understand team management decisions.
