U11 & U12 2025 Development Teams

TRIALS

There will be up to two U11 Grade, and two U12 Grade Development Teams (12 players in each squad), if numbers allow.   Coaches will be allocated by the Club. 

​​​​​​​The Development Team environment will provide a more challenging environment for those Junior players wanting to push themselves to the next level.  Teams will be competing in the top bands in the Mainland Competition. Players will be evenly spread across the two teams in each grade. Development Teams don't necessarily stay together each year.

Those players who register to the Development Teams, and don't make the teams, will continue to be tracked through the season and may be invited to attend Development Teams Training.

​​​​​​​Note: All registered players turning 11 or 12 will be placed in a Mainland Team (if they don't make the Development Teams - these teams will be based on the same team as 2024, and new players will be added to teams as needed).

​​​​​​​COST: 

Early Bird Fee: $250 (paid by 18th March 2025).

Standard Fee: $275 (paid after 18th March 2025).

WHERE: Home games are held at Kendall Park, Island Road Kaiapoi. Away games are held in Christchurch.

WHEN: Saturday mornings. Times are dependent on grade.

Start Date: Saturday 26th April 2025

Finish Date: 6th September 2025

No Football:  Kings Birthday Weekend or the middle weekend of July school holidays.

Prizegiving Date:  13th September 2025 (TBC)

2025 DEVELOPMENT TEAM TRIALS

U11 Development Teams

Time:  4.00pm-5.00pm

Venue:  Kendall Park (Grass Fields)

Players MUST register their interest by 14th February 2025

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.  ONLY THOSE REGISTERED FOR THE TRIALS WILL BE ABLE TO TRIAL.


U12 Development Teams

Dates:  17th, 19th, and 25th, 27thFebruary 2025

Time:  4.00pm-5.00pm

Venue:  Kendall Park (Grass Fields)

Players MUST register their interest by 14th February 2025

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.  ONLY THOSE REGISTERED WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND TRIALS STARTING ON THE 17TH FEBRUARY 2025

Christchurch International Cup - July School Holidays (Selected Mixed Teams) TBC

South Island or Regional Tournaments - October School Holidays (Mixed and Girls Only Teams) TBC

UNIFORM (Community Teams): Players provide their shirts, shorts, socks (all black), shin pads, and boots. Full Adidas Uniform in 2025.

UNIFORM (Development Teams): - Players provide their shirts, shorts & Socks (TBC). Adidas Uniform will be worn in 2025.  Shin pads are COMPULSORY. Boots (no metal studs) are recommended as players may train and play on both turf and grass.

CANCELLATIONS: Grounds and game cancellations will be on the Club website and Facebook page as well as Mainland Football website.

U13 Development Teams

Development Team Fee - $250.00 (Development Team Fees may change in 2026)

Included in our 2025 Development Fee are:

  1. No Uniform is provided to our Development Players.  It is purchased by families from Adidas which is on our Home Page at the top (Game Day Kits)
  2. 20 Week Programme
  3. Mainland & NZ Football Fees
  4. Play in Division 1 or 2, with movement (up or down) throughout the season by Mainland as required.
  5. Coaches are appointed by the Club.  These are usually parents or Senior Players.  Coaching Certificates are encouraged but not required.  This may change in 2026.
  6. Two trainings a week on grass fields – Kendall Park (until daylight savings), or Maria Andrews (lights), The Showgrounds (lights) and Dudley Park (lights)
  7. Coaches have monthly contact with the Clubs Director of Football
  8. Payment Plans must be paid for by the 20th April 2025, and Registrations must have been received by the 18th March 2025
  9. The team will play in the Regional Tournaments
  10. Players can register for Coaches/Referee Courses throughout the year
  11. Development Teams will be available to view on our Website, once teams are confirmed,
  12. Trials are run each year for these teams.
  13. A limited amount of new equipment is provided each year.

The Development Programme is designed for those players, who still want a competitive environment, without the requirements of the Academy.
